After plasma and LCD TV's, what's next? Laser TV's, that's what. Many electronics companies are now demonstrating their laser-driven TV sets.
Since laser beams are more focused and possess purer colors, they can produce images on a TV screen that are richer and more vibrant than conventional CRT, plasma, or LCD TVs. Here are other advantages supposedly offered by laser TV's:
- half the weight and cost of Plasma or LCD displays
- less power consumption
- a much wider color palette
- a 50,000-hour lifespan.
